Roger Crook aced the 167 yard 13th on the Blue Course during the final round of the Army Open Strokeplay Championship on Wednesday 19th May 2010. A sweetly struck 6-iron landed 5 yards short of the hole and rolled out before gently toppling in. Roger has played to a handicap of 5 or less for over 35 years and this was his first hole-in-one, after many near misses and eagles on par 4s! He remembers 2 things - it was a good shot and it was special to actually see the ball go in the hole. In the 80's, Roger was a student at Shrivenham and a youth member at Frilford Heath GC, before the Blue Course was constructed!
Attached is a photo of Roger at Arabella GC in South Africa taken earlier this year and a lesser quality phone shot of him picking the ball out of the hole..
