Membership

At Frilford Heath Golf Club we currently have around 1200 full time members, ladies and men, with approx 100 junior members.  With three courses and five different starting points this ensures that there is ample space to accommodate members and visitors alike.

Membership at Frilford Heath entitles you to the full use of the clubhouse, courses and practice facilities.  You can also make use of the conference room and hire the public rooms for private parties, weddings etc.

The following benefits also apply:

• No tee times.  With the membership levels being pinned to a comfortable level, it ensures that there is always adequate space, not only to tee off but also out on the courses.           
• One of the courses is always designated for two ball play only and this rotates between the three.  This obviously helps those playing in two ball or foursomes format to move quickly around the course.
• As a member you are allowed to sign in three guests at any one time and there is no limit to the number of times you can sign in each guest.
• We operate a club members “Gold Card” which allows access to the clubs changing rooms and also, once money has been deposited onto it, gives a 10% discount on all bar, catering and green fees.
• We have an active social calendar and members are encouraged to participate in club social events.
• A variety of golf events, knock out competitions and inter club matches are organised throughout the year.
• There is an “A” team for those with low handicaps who also operate a scratch ladder and again a variety of matches.

We operate the following types of membership only at Frilford Heath Golf Club:

            Full Playing  -  Full seven day membership

            Country Membership - for those living outside an 80 mile radius from the club

            Cadet            - Aged between 18 and 25 years

            Junior - Aged between 10 and 17years

            All of the above are applicable to men and ladies

If you would like to gain membership of Frilford Heath Golf Club, we require you to fill in a membership application form.  This should be supported by a recommendation from a Proposer and Seconder who should be members of the club of not less than three years standing and be well acquainted with the candidate.  Two additional playing members should also sponsor the applicant.  Neither proposer, seconder or sponsors shall be the husband or the wife of the applicant. 

If the applicant is not well known to members of the club, a letter of introduction from his/her previous club with a suitable reference and handicap will also be considered.

Once we have received your application you will be invited to attend a new members meeting which is usually held the third Saturday in the month.  Here, you will meet with the Captain, Secretary and members of the committee and they will run through the club rules etc.  If everything is satisfactory after this meeting, your membership will be put to the General Committee two weeks later.

The applicant MUST hold a valid handicap certificate.  It must be stressed that the courses are championship courses and as such, are not suitable for beginners. 

On joining, the subscription fee is payable pro-rata with all of the entrance fee payable.  (Cheque or cash only).  The Clubs subscription year runs January to December and subscription fees are payable in advance on 1^st January each year.
