Club Championship - Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July

Frilford Heath’s club championship was held in testing conditions over all 3 courses. Opening with the tough Blue course on Saturday morning, followed by the Green course in the afternoon, scoring was proving difficult. Ashley Walton, with rounds of 73 and 70 (+2) was leading after day 1 from junior BB&O Champion, Luke Williams and Paul Dolton, both on +3.
The top 30 players contested the final round on the Red course the following day. Walton’s experience guided him to victory with an outstanding, bogey free, 2 under par round for a level par total. Luke Williams, also playing in the final group, could only manage 4 over and a total of +7 to secure second place. Another junior, Joe Richardson took third place on countback from Ben Paterson and Andrew Tucker.
Andrew Tucker took the John Fisher Cup for the best handicap score for the first 2 rounds on day 1 with a net score of 137.

Gold Medal - Wednesday 10th June

Ashley Walton clinched his second Frilford Heath Gold Medal victory after a fine second round on the Green Course.

The Frilford member and BB&O champion, who also won the event in 2004, edged out William Ellis (De Vere Carden Park) by one shot.

Walton was five shots off the pace after carding a two-over-par 74 on the Blue Course, but his two-under-par 67 on the Green was enough for the title.

Luke Williams, the BB&O junior champion and also a member of Frilford, won the prize for the best gross score on the Green Course with a 66.

Founders Bowl - Sunday 7th June

Clive Brandram was the eventual winner of Frilford Heath's Founders Bowl. Presented by Captain Jock Skinner

In spite of awful weather conditions a field of 180 players took to Frilford Heath's Red course all looking to win the coveted Founders Bowl. The best gross score registered for this medal competition was from Joe Richardson, one of Frilford's most promising juniors, but the competition was for the best nett score and the winner for the day was Clive Brandram with excellent gross 75 nett 70.

Not satisfied with winning one of the club's major competitions, Clive took the Red again alongside 60 other members to play in the Seniors Club Championship and incredibly registered exactly the same score of gross 75 nett 70 to scoop the prize on a very testing course.
